LIFE
Carrie Belinda Summers was born July 10, 1962 in Detroit, Mich. to Amanda and Luther Summers. The youngest of three, Carrie was a quiet girl who grew into a loving woman fond of her family and friends. A believer in Christ, she was baptized at age 12 at Aijalon Baptist Church. Later on, she joined Kadesh Missionary Baptist Church and eventually Calvary Baptist Church of Detroit under the leadership of Rev. Lawrence T. Foster.

LOVE
Carrie, nicknamed Lynn, had a heart as big as her fun-loving personality. She enjoyed card games, writing poetry & keeping journals and her late mother's soul food cooking. She attracted friends of all ages and backgrounds. She loved inspiring laughter in her sister and nieces. Growing up, the group enjoyed deep conversations and a lifelong bond of sisterhood.

LEGACY
Carrie departed this life the morning of March 23, 2015, after battling a long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Amanda and Luther, and brother, Earl Singleton. Left to cherish her memory are: Her sister, Shiela Summers; nieces, Teresa Singleton, Valeri Singleton-Smith, Latoya Singleton and Keyonna Summers; nephew, Khaliph Page; "Papa" Joe Butler; close friends, Cleatrice "Mom" Grigsby, Marion & Candice Taylor, Tia Coleman and Leola Wesley; and a host of other relatives and loved ones.
